Service Description
This training teaches the framework of Yoga therapy including assessment skills, therapeutic relationship, establishing therapeutic goals, and trauma informed practices and principles. Participants will be competent to describe the yogic models of health and disease in relation to sukkha and dukkha, the pancamayakosha map and the chakra map. Participants will be able to describe and demonstrate basic assessment skills of: - Inspection (darshana), - Palpation (sparsana) and, - Questioning (prasna) Participants will be able to articulate - Trauma informed practices and principles in the context of yoga teaching - The importance of and keys to developing a safe therapeutic relationship Participants will be able to describe basic anatomy and physiology for: - Common back care conditions, - Humans systems response to stress and safety - The role of the mind in perception and the mind-body-breath connection Design yoga class plans with therapeutic goals appropriate for: - Calming stress states and evoking pyschophysiological regulation, - Back care, - Yin and restorative style of practices

Classes and courses - fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Classes are booked in 6 week blocks. Make up classes may be available at another class within the 6 week block but are subject to availability.
